ADP offers two different products for international payrolls.

www.adpstreamline.com

http://www.adp.com/global/globalview/about.html

We looked into but their systems had employee # limits. In some of the countries we were too large, other countries were not up and runnint yet.

When ADP determined we weren't a good match for their products, we were referred to another company Maeske, Inc which as a product called One View. We going down this path but a change at the top of our organization occured and the project stopped.

Right now, we have 20 employees in Hong Kong and about 20 employees in China, but we are going to add about 100 people in our China office this year and next year. When I talk to the person in ADP Steamline, he did not menation limitation on the nubmer of employee.

When you do the reasch, do you find better service in another company than ADP?

Thank you.

Just to be clear, even if you can get the foreign payroll done by someone, you almost certain also have legal responsibilities for general tax and reporting filings not related to payroll activity. Employers I have worked with normally used one of the big national CPA firms, along with the in-country local affliates to handle not just the payroll, but all normal company tax and reporting, much of which has nothing to do with payroll.

There was a difference of opinion on how to manage our international payrolls.

Option 1 - Have a corporate department process all countries

Option 2 - Have the home country process

I preferred Option 2. I'm sure I could learn to process on multiple systems but I did not believe our corporate office had the expertise to understand all the compliactions of various countries.

We went 2 the home country option. The folks running payrolls in Brazil, Argentina, and Spain certainly had more expertise in their areas than we did. We didn't know all the specific rules, taxes, etc...

At the end we let the home countries manage their own and they send their data up the chain to be consolidated for reporting purposes.

When I worked for the oil drilling company, we did too. The zone accountant handled it either manually, or with some system. But they were the ones who knew the labor laws, payment laws, etc. in that country.

Thank you for the information from all of you. We currently are using the local accounting firm to process our payroll, but we are going to double our employees in China this year, our accounting firm ask us that we should process payroll by ourself, beacuse there are too many employees. My boss does want to centerlize our payroll in the US base. I don't seem find the right payroll service to do our internation payroll.

I'm sorry to post so late. We have employees in 10 different countries, which include China, Hong Kong and Singapore. We determined that ADP did not have any products that would work in those 3 countries. In Hong Kong and Singapore we use a company called Tricor, and they've been great to work with. In China, we had to establish a totally different company, and once that was established, we outsourced our payroll to a company called FESCO. FESCO has been pretty good to work with and their fees are reasonable. Good luck!
